Dr. Porfirio Mendosa Tiongson of Fenton, Missouri passed away on June 15, 2019 at the age of 96 years. He was born April 1, 1923 in Solano, Phillipines the son of the late Adriano and Isabella (Mendosa) Tiongson. On March 5, 1954 he was united in marriage to Margaret Ann Wellborn who preceded him in death on March 19, 2001. To this union four children were born; Maryia Hacker and husband, Steven of Newark, Delaware, Adriano Tiongson of St. Louis, Missouri, Ricardo Tiongson and fiancé Debbie Stevens of Camarillo, California, and Tina Simone and husband, Tom of Fenton, Missouri. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, three great granddaughters (with one more on the way), numerous nieces and nephews, as well as a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, Dr. Perry was preceded in death by four brothers; Pedro, Ricardo, Marcelino, and Catalino, his sister; Cristina, daughter-in-law; Maria Tiongson, and a granddaughter; Lisa Simone. Dr. Tiongson, known as “Dr. Perry” worked for fifty years at Alexian Brothers Hospital in St. Louis. He was a member of St. Catherine’s Laboure in St. Louis. He was a member of the Phillipine Medical Association (PMA), the St. Louis County Rotary Club, and the Knights of Columbus. Dr. Perry was also an avid tennis player and a member of the Concord Tennis club for many years. A Memorial gathering will be held at the gravesite in Pilot Knob Cemetery on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at 12:00 Noon. A Memorial Mass will be held in St. Louis at a later date. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or the Black Madonna Shrine.
