Ralph Richard Dehater

Ralph Richard DeHater of Black, Missouri passed away June 12, 2025 in St. Charles, Missouri at the age of 70 years. He was born February 25, 1955 in St. Louis, Missouri the son of the late Oliver and Bernice (Botkin) DeHater. On June 21, 2005 he was united in marriage to Doris Jean Miller who preceded him in death on December 29, 2018. Ralph gained four bonus children through his marriage to Doris: Sarah Silva (James) of Ironton, Missouri, Larry Boyer (Hayley) of Doe Run, Missouri, Jason Boyer (Rebecca) of Fredericktown, Missouri, and Rodney Boyer (Nikki Delay) also of Doe Run, Missouri. He leaves behind fifteen bonus grandchildren. Ralph will be missed by his friends; Scott and Fay Becker, Fritz Chissom, and Den and Cathy Becker. He was Uncle Ralph to Carrie, Naomi, and John. Ralph retired from the Doe Run Company. He was an outdoorsman who loved spending time on his property riding his 4-wheeler, shooting guns and going to the creek with his dogs. Ralph enjoyed the privacy that his property allowed him to have, but he enjoyed having his friends come to visit so he could share it with them. Ralph loved his dogs and over the years he raised and owned Boston Terriers, Pugs, and English Bull dogs. He enjoyed taking them to the creek and watching them play in the water. Ralph spent his last day joking around with his favorite nurses, eating good food, and in the company of family. His stepson, Jason (whom he always referred to as his “son” to all the doctors and nurses), Jason’s wife, Rebecca, and stepdaughter, Sarah were all at his side. The family wishes to express special thanks and gratitude to all the caring healthcare workers who assisted Ralph these last months. Special thanks is also extended to his long time, devoted friends, who patiently gave so much of their own time to his care and needs. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Bryson Funeral Home Chapel. Ralph will be interred with his wife and parents at Memorial Park Cemetery in St. Louis on Thursday, June 19, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to Furever Paws and Claws in Fredericktown, Missouri.
