Mrs. Reathel June 'Mahurin' Hardesty passed away Friday, August 12, 2011, at Southbrook Skilled Nursing, Farmington, at the age of 78 years, 1 month and 24 days. Reathel was born June 18, 1933, in St. Francois County, and was the daughter of William and Flora Mae 'Strickland' Mahurin. Also preceding-in-death were: 3 sisters: Geraldine "Deanie" Eaves (2008); and 2 stillborn sisters - Wilma & Wanda. 3 brothers: Bobby Gene "Red" Mahurin; Donald Lee "Banjo" Mahurin & Larry Ray "Little Banjo" Mahurin. 1 Step-Granddaughter, Misty White-Burden.
Reathel was a former receptionist at Farmington Community Hospital and a member of the Desloge Order of the Eastern Star Lodge.
Survivors Include: her husband, John H. Hardesty, of Farmington; 1 son: John Dale (& Susan) Hardesty, of West Columbia, TX. 1 sister: Betty Lou 'Mrs. Paul' Henroid, of Park Hills. 3 brothers: Francis Dewayne "Butch" (& Bonita) Mahurin, of Desloge; James Eugene "Jimbo" (& Betty Sue) Mahurin, of Desloge; William Glenn "Sonny" (& Joyce) Mahurin, of West Columbia, TX. 1 grandson: John William (& Lindsey) Hardesty, of West Columbia, TX. 4 Step, Great-Grandchildren. Also surviving are numerous other Relatives & Friends.
Visitation: Monday, 5-8 pm, with an Eastern Star Service, Monday at 7 p.m. Visitation resumes, Tues., 6:30 am
Funeral : Tuesday, 11:00 a.m., August 16, 2011
at : TAYLOR Funeral Service CHAPEL, with Rev. J.C. Moore officiating.
Interment : Big River Cemetery - Irondale, Missouri
