Rev. Dr. William A. Allen passed away early Tuesday morning, February 16, 2016, at his Farmington Presbyterian Manor residence at the age of 87 years, 7 months & 19 days. Bill was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on June 27, 1928, to William Ozro Allen & Vina Alice 'Kopp' Allen. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Jolinda Allen (Dec. 5, 1979), and a sister, Betty Sue Stone.

In his 44 years of ministry, Bill served several local pastorates in Oklahoma, Kansas, and Missouri - including Libertyville, DeSoto and Moberly in Missouri. Bill moved to Farmington in 1969 and worked as Chaplain at Farmington State Hospital for 25 years. Bill received his Doctorate from Eden Theological Seminary. He was trained as a Clinical Pastoral Education Supervisor and mentored numerous chaplains & pastors through the years. He served on the Board of Ordained Ministries for the Missouri Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. Bill was a longtime member of the Farmington Lions Club & delivered 'Meals-on-Wheels' for more than 25 years. He was also part of the Farmington Ministerial Alliance. Bill was an avid tennis player & participated in numerous tournaments including the Senior Olympics. Bill was very involved in Memorial United Methodist Church - singing in the Choir and attended the 'Pairs & Spares' Sunday School Class. He enjoyed camping, the outdoors & the St. Louis Cardinals. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and a man of great faith and integrity.

Survivors Include : his beloved wife of 65 years, Pat 'Suit' Allen, of Farmington. Sons: William Allen, Jr., of Columbia, MO & Donald Allen, of Oklahoma City, OK. Daughter: Lorri (& Steve) Coates, of Kirkwood, MO. Sister, Mary (& Norvell) Dalley, of Davis, OK. 2 grandchildresn - Emily Coates, of Hitachi, Japan & Kate Coates, of Columbia, MO., and several nieces & nephews.

Visitation : Friday, 4-8 p.m. @ TAYLOR Funeral CHAPEL

Funeral : Saturday, 10:00 a.m., Feb. 20, 2016,

at : Memorial United Methodist Church, Farmington, with Rev. Scott Hall officiating (visitation resumes Sat., 9 am @ church)

Interment follows at : Knights-of-Pythias Cemetery, Farmington
