Rev. Samuel James Barker

Rev. James Barker, 93, of Park Hills passed away November 6, 2014 at Country Meadows Nursing Center in Park Hills. He was born December 17, 1920, in Desloge, to the late James Enloe and Biddie Ellen (Cooksey) Barker. He was a member of Gospel Light Free Will Baptist Church in Bonne Terre. He is preceded in death by his parents; loving wife of 73 years, Geneva L. Barker; one daughter Sharon (Barker) Graham; and three sisters, Helen Owen, Alice Hinkle, Margareita Leonard. Rev. Barker is survived by his son, Rev. Richard Barker and wife Martha of Farmington; three grandchildren, Doug (Jeanie) Graham, Becky Worley, and Laura Horton; ten great-grandchildren, Bayley, Marcus, Ethan, McKinley, Kiley, Eli, Daniel, Sarai, Michael, and Austin. Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Friday, November 7, 2014 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The service will be held in the C.Z. Boyer and Son chapel, Saturday, November 8, 2014 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Larry Allison and Rev. Herb McMillian officiating. Interment will follow immediately at Hillview Memorial Gardens in Farmington.
