Richard William Atherton, age 42 of Fredericktown, Missouri passed away on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He was born on November 16, 1975 in St. Louis, Missouri, a son of Stanley Richard Atherton and Pamela Sue (Regh) Atherton.
On December 22, 2002 in Hillsboro, Missouri he was united in marriage to Rhonda Kay Reasoner, she survives in Fredericktown.
Other survivors include his children: Cierra Atherton-Tripp, Chelsea Atherton, Candance Atherton and Caleb Atherton; stepson – Chavelle Gallagher; father – Stanley Atherton; mother Pamela Atherton-Trigg; brothers – Jason Johndrow and wife Jenny, Eric, Thomas and Stanley Atherton Jr.; sister – Janet Atherton; grandsons – Liam Tripp and Nolan Tripp; nephew, dear uncle and best friends – Don Hook, Michael "Taco" and Jerry Smith.
He is preceded in death by his grandmother – Joan Morehouse; grandfather – William Regh and grandparents – George & Avis Atherton.
Rich worked with amusement rides and helped anyone in need and gave homeless people a home. He enjoyed camping, fishing and traveling and was a member of the Highland Baptist Church in Hillsboro.
A memorial service will be held in the spring of 2019. Condolences may be posted on this website.
