Dr. Richard Carl Holmes

Dr. Richard Carl Holmes of Ironton, Missouri passed away December 24, 2018 at the age of 87 years. He was born November 23, 1931 in Rolla, Missouri the son of the late Richard Groves and Amy Catherine (Wilkinson) Holmes. On June 28, 1958 he was united in marriage to Anna Marie Nichols who survives. To this union seven children were born; Catherine Holmes of Farmington, Missouri, Carl Holmes who preceded him in death, Willa Frattini and husband, John of St. Louis, Missouri, Paul Holmes of Overland Park, Kansas, Richie Holmes of Columbia, Missouri, Amy Beaton and husband, John of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and John Holmes of Berlin, Germany. Also surviving are six grandchildren and one great grandson as well as a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents and son, Richard was also preceded in death by his brother, Samuel Price Holmes. Dr. Holmes was a 1955 graduate of the Washington University School of Dentistry.
