Richard “Rich” King, age 87, of Bonne Terre, passed away, Friday, December 3, 2021, at Presbyterian Manor in Farmington. He was born on Monday, January 29, 1934, in St. Louis. Rich proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He retired from the United Parcel Service and was a member of Teamsters Local #688. Rich was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. Rich proudly devoted much of his time serving with the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed working at the church’s food pantry and woodworking. He will be remembered as a loving dad, grandpa, great-grandpa and friend who leaves behind a legacy of hard work and devotion to faith.
Rich was preceded in death by his parents, Russell Dallas and Bertha (Sansousie) King; loving wife Carole Marie (Rodriguez) King; sons, Gregory King and Matthew King; siblings, Don King and wife Shirley, Joanie Jorden and husband Jerry.
He is survived by his daughter, Laura Coleman and husband Mark; son, Tony King; three grandchildren, Greg Coleman and wife Kim, Scott Coleman and wife Stephanie, Jessica Maynes and husband Derek; thirteen great-grandchildren, Lillian, Carlea, Sawyer, Akira, Ahlli, Bella, Brecken, Josephine, Samantha, Tucker Gregory, Nikyla, Taylin and Rayleigh; brother, Kenny King and wife Phyllis; along with several sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; nieces and nephews, cousins.
Visitation will be Monday, December 13, 2021 at C. Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 in the funeral home chapel from 8:30 AM until 9:30 AM. Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bonne Terre with Rev. James A. Holbrook officiating. Interment will be at Saints Peter & Paul Cemetery in St. Louis.
