It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rickey Lynn Whitmore, who left this world on March 21, 2026, at the age of 72. He was born on February 7, 1954, in Trezevant, Tennessee, to the late Robert Lynn Whitmore and Letha Marie (Hastings) Whitmore-Brooks. Rickey was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose impact on the lives of those around him will never be forgotten.
Rickey previously worked in the logging industry and later retired from Claru Deville Nursing Center, where he worked as a floor technician. He was a man of strong values, embodying the spirit of hard work and compassion. Rickey and his wife attended Bethel Baptist Church in Ironton.
In addition to his parents, Rickey was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Amanda Whitmore; sister, Janice Carey and husband James; brothers, Russell Whitmore and Billy Joe Whitmore; sisters-in-law, Shirley Whitmore, Joann Osborne, Lottie Marler and Linda Hill.
In his leisure time, Rickey cherished the joys of hunting and fishing, adventures that often led him to the great outdoors where he found solace. However, the greatest joy of all came from the moments spent with his beloved family, particularly his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought light and laughter into his life. Rickey's warmth and love will forever hold a special place in their hearts.
Rickey leaves behind his devoted wife, Betty Whitmore; son, Nick Whitmore; daughter, Jamie Whitmore (Steve Knapp); grandchildren, Adrianna Whitmore and fiance Trevor Timmermeyer, Kaitlin Whitmore, Allison Whitmore, Bridget Hennen and husband Hunter, Danny Clifton, and wife Shianna, Ethan Clifton and fiancee Karlee Doran; great-grandchildren, Giavanna Timmermeyer, William Hennen, Danny Clifton Jr., Grayson Barnard, Kason Barnard and Bryson Barnard; brother, Lynn Whitmore along with several nieces, nephews, friends and family.
