Rita Marie Reed

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved Rita Reed. She passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 12, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Rita’s life was a testament to the power of family. She cherished her role as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, showering each member of her extensive family with unwavering love and support. Her warmth, kindness, and generous spirit touched countless lives. On September 12, 1949, she was united in marriage to Harry Reed who preceded her in death in 2003. Rita leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories, deeply mourned by their five children: Rose Clark of Tampa, Florida, Barbara Norton of Lutz, Florida, Harry Reed Jr. of Connelly Springs, North Carolina, Sandra Kmack of Brandon, Florida, and Robert Reed of Temple Terrace, Florida. Twelve grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren will also cherish many fond memories of their grandma. Rita was preceded in death by her parents; Henry and Lydia (Thoele) Fuesting, her husband, Harry L. Reed, two brothers: Engelbert Fuesting and Gerald Fuesting and three sisters: Dorothy Roedl, Mary Sullivan and Adelaide Fuesting. While our hearts ache with her loss, we find comfort in remembering the beautiful life she lived and the enduring love she shared. We will forever cherish the time we spent with her and hold her memory close to our hearts. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Bryson Funeral Home Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. at Arcadia Valley Memorial Park.
