Robert Eugene Stokes, affectionately known as Rob, of Bonne Terre, passed away June 24, 2025, at Mercy Jefferson Hospital in Festus. Born on September 17, 1967, in Farmington, Rob was the cherished son of the late Howard and Wilma (Sebastian) Stokes.
As a husband devoted to Valerie Stokes for 20 years and a partner for 32 years, Rob's love and commitment to his family were unwavering. He played an integral role in his children's lives, imparting wisdom and instilling values that shaped the men they have become. Rob’s legacy of love will continue to resonate through his sons, who will forever carry his teachings in their hearts.
A passionate St. Louis Cardinals fan, Rob found joy in cheering for his team and sharing his love of sports with family and friends. He also cherished the peaceful moments spent fishing, finding tranquility by the water, and savoring the joys of life. Above all, Rob’s greatest happiness came from the time spent with his loved ones, creating cherished memories that will endure through the years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Larry Stokes, Ronnie Stokes, Janet Kitchell and Betty Stokes.
Rob is survived by his wife, Valerie (Forshee) Stokes; sons, Robert Michael Stokes (Makayla McEntire), Dustin Stokes and Terry Stokes (Karlee Crump); he was an amazing Pa Pa to Keegan Stokes, Brysen Stokes and Addyson Craig; brother, Denny Stokes; special nephew, Rusty Parker; many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends also survive.
Arrangements are pending and under the direction of C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge. Memorials may be directed to the funeral home to help Rob’s family with expenses.
