Robert "Bob" Pierce Bollinger

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Robert Pierce "Bob" Bollinger, fondly known as Bob, a beloved father, pawpaw, great pawpaw, brother, veteran, and friend, who passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at the age of 76. Born on Saturday, February 18, 1950, in St. Louis, Missouri, Robert lived a life defined by dedication, hard work, loyalty, and love for his family and friends.

Bob proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He enlisted on November 25, 1968, honorably served until March 17, 1974, and achieved the rank of Sergeant (E-5). His military service was a source of great pride throughout his life. He was also a proud member of VFW Post 6883, where he enjoyed the fellowship of fellow veterans.

Following his military service, Bob dedicated 30 years to Boeing Aircraft, retiring as an expediter. His strong work ethic and commitment earned the respect of his coworkers throughout his career.

Outside of work, Bob embraced life with enthusiasm. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and faithfully cheered on the St. Louis Rams. He loved watching classic Westerns, listening to Motown music, and was especially fond of Al Jolson and The Temptations. His favorite holiday was the Fourth of July, when he enjoyed swimming, barbecuing with family and friends, and celebrating with an ice-cold Stag or Busch beer. Bob also adored his beloved cat, Stymie, whose companionship brought him great joy. He had a special fondness for Betty Boop, whose playful spirit always made him smile.

Above all else, Bob treasured his family. He was a devoted father, pawpaw, and great pawpaw whose greatest happiness came from spending time with those he loved.

Bob survives his beloved fiancé of over 20 years, Teri Wells; daughter, Samantha Bollinger; his grandchildren, Matthew (Kenzie) Bollinger and Chloe Bleckler; his cherished great-grandchildren, Lincoln, William, and Finn; and his loving sisters, Mary Bollinger and Penny Bollinger.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Bonnie (Johnson) Bollinger, wife, Ginger (Lato) Bollinger and sister Connie Bollinger.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 7, 2026, at C.Z. Boyer & Son Chapel in Bonne Terre from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral service of 12:00 P.M. Interment with military honors will follow at St. Francois Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bob's honor to St. Jude's Children's Research or to Wounded Warrior Project's Project. 

Bob’s kindness, humor, wisdom, and unwavering love for his family will be deeply missed. Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in the memories he leaves behind and the legacy of love, service, and devotion that will continue to live on through those who knew him.
