Robert "Jerry" Rapp

Robert Jerald Rapp, known to most everyone as “Jerry” passed away on July 3, 2023 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 66 years. He was born February 28, 1957 in Bonne Terre, Missouri the son of the late Robert Donald and Martha Mary (Roberts) Rapp. Jerry was united in marriage to Karen Lynn Sitze Lewis on April 24, 2010. She survives and resides in Ironton, Missouri. Jerry is survived by his two children: Gregory Rapp (Rachel) and Katie Wahlig (Joshua) both of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and his sister: Janice Halley (Alan) of Farmington, Missouri. Jerry had one grandson, Graham Wahlig of Cape Girardeau. Jerry was a 1975 graduate of Farmington High School. Following graduation, he attended Mineral Area College and then the University of Missouri – Rolla where he earned his B.S. in Engineering. Jerry worked for the Army Corp of Engineers in St. Louis. He loved to play golf and helped in every way possible at Arcadia Valley Country Club. He also enjoyed fishing and reading. Jerry was instrumental in starting the 724 outdoor magazine. He also liked to watch Cardinal Baseball. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 6, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. from Bryson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Canterberry officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will be in Arcadia Valley Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers Memorials are preferred to the Arcadia Valley Country Club.
