Ronald "Bouncer" Frederick Engler

Ronald “Bouncer” Frederick Engler, 64, of De Soto, Missouri, formerly of Bonne Terre, Missouri, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2024 at Mercy Jefferson Hospital, with his loving daughter Andrea at his side.

Bouncer was born on June 24, 1959 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late George and Marjorie Engler. He grew up in Bonne Terre, Missouri with his six siblings.

Bouncer believed in living life to the fullest, regardless of the consequences. He had the mentality that you only live once and he demonstrated that in his daily life, until his stroke in 2015. He enjoyed his time on earth, creating many lifelong memories with his family and friends. He enjoyed fishing, barbecuing, and he loved the 4th of July. He was known for his inappropriate sense of humor, he never met a stranger, and he was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone he could.

Bouncer is preceded in death by his parents, George and Marjorie Engler, his brother, Danny Engler, and his best friend, Kevin Stegall.

He leaves behind three loving children, Andrea Engler (and longtime partner Damien Reeves) of DeSoto, Missouri; Hillary Engler (and longtime fiancé Gary Miller) of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; and Fred Engler (and longtime partner Shanna Moore) of Bonne Terre, Missouri, three grandchildren, Jaya “Chub Chub” Crites; Gage “Smiley Guy” Reeves; and Ava Miller, siblings Grace (Richard) Ketchum; George (Dee) Engler; Will (Dawn) Engler; Timothy Engler; and Teresa (Shawn) Stokes, as well as many nieces, nephews, “adopted” family, and friends.

A special thanks to Tina Price for staying at Bouncer’s bedside during his final night to provide respite and comfort to his children.

Bouncer will be cremated and a Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. The family would appreciate any donations made to Boyer Funeral Home in Bonne Terre, Missouri to help cover the cremation costs.

Arrangements are under the direction of C.Z. Boyer Funeral Home in Bonne Terre.
