Ronald Vernon Dugal, 90 and 14 days, of Farmington passed away September 6, 2022 at Camelot Nursing Center in Farmington. He was born August 23, 1932 in Farmington to the late Leo and Velma (Chalk) Dugal. Ron was a graduate of Farmington High School. He then proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. After returning home and marrying, he entered Flat River Community College and later transferred to Baylor University in Waco, TX. He earned a degree in accounting and accepted a job with the Internal Revenue Service in Houston, TX. He retired after 33 years and then went on to teach at Forest Park Community College in St. Louis for 19 years. He volunteered for 22 years doing taxes for the AARP. He also served as a volunteer for the USO at Lambert Airport. Ron was a platelet donor for many years, having donated 591 times. He was also a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Desloge.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Bill Dugal and Richard Dugal; one sister, Connie Caringer.

Ron is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Shirley (Counts) Dugal; four children, Dr. Randall Dugal and wife Tammy of West Palm Beach, FL, Rhonda Jarden and husband James of Bunker Hill, IL, Lydia Joedeman and husband Curtis of Firth, NE, Donna Sullivan and husband Mark of Gilbert, AZ; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Carole Short, Sandra Stoll and husband Kenneth, Janice Spane and husband Dave; sister-in-law, Dottie Dugal.

Visitation will be held Saturday, September 10, 2022 from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM at the C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home – Taylor Chapel in Farmington with Rev. Kevin Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Hillview Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Washita Baptist Church, First Baptist Church of Desloge, Elvins Food Pantry, or Serenity Hospice.
