Ronald Payne, 83, of Farmington, passed away November 27, 2024, at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in St. Louis. He was born October 20, 1941, in Womack, to the late Fred and Retta (Harris) Payne. Ronald went to Crossroads grade school, and after graduating from Mine LaMott High School, he served his country in the United States Navy, starting in 1959 until 1962. He was an ordained minister and a member of the Freewill Baptist Church in Fredericktown. Ronald’s mission in life, was to spread God’s word.
He loved to take his family on fishing trips to Bidwell Hollow, his Holy Land, as well as taking his beautiful bride Sue, to Branson. Ronald enjoyed watching baseball on Sunday with his daughter LeaDonna and junkin with his son Bub, so he could find those hidden “Treasures.”
He was preceded in death by his parents; two siblings, Janice Huffman and Freddie “Fred” O. Payne.
Ronald is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Carolyn “Sue” (Hackworth) Payne; children, LeaDonna Sue Payne (special friend, Bobby Johnson), Ronald “ReRun” Payne, Jr. and wife Stephanie; grandson, Nick (Niki) Payne; one great-granddaughter, Jaylynne Payne; siblings, Gail Huffman, Joyce Reagan, Sandy Wells (Gregg), Bill (Kim) Payne; special family, Paula, Caleb, Lauren Cartee and family; and Stephen Price; nieces, nephews, other family members and Church family also survive.
Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Monday, December 2, 2024, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The visitation will resume, Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at 8:00 AM until the time of service at 10:00 AM. Reverend Tony Hampton and Rev. Wayne Phillips will be officiating. Interment will follow at Hillview Memorial Gardens in Farmington with full military honors. Memorials may be directed to the choice of the donor in honor of Ronald’s memory.
