It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ronnie Glaze, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, veteran, and friend. Ronnie was born on Sunday, December 29, 1946, to the late Oda Ray and Flora Dean (Elder) Glaze in Bald Knob, Arkansas. Ronnie passed away peacefully at his home in Bonne Terre, Missouri, on Sunday, June 14, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Ronnie approached life with a warm heart, an infectious smile, and a generous spirit. His kindness touched everyone he met, and his unwavering devotion to his family was the cornerstone of his life. He cherished every moment spent with those he loved and created a legacy of love, laughter, and strength that will live on through generations.
Ronnie proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He completed Basic Combat Training and Basic Airborne Training and served as a Field Artillery Operations and Intelligence Specialist. In recognition of his courage, sacrifice, and dedicated service, Ronnie was awarded the Purple Heart, Air Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Parachutist Badge. His military service was a source of pride throughout his life and reflected the courage and character that defined him.
Above all else, Ronnie was a devoted family man. He is survived by his loving wife, Susan Glaze; his daughters, Julie Beffa and Amy McDaniel; and their spouses, Jay Beffa and John McDaniel. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Hilari (Micah) Nelson, Lucas (Ethan) Lemar, Max McDaniel, and Molly McDaniel; great-grandchildren, Elsie and Braxton Nelson, Jayden, Tatum, and Auburn Beffa each of whom brought him immense joy and pride.
Ronnie is also survived by his brother, Warren (Janice) Glaze, with whom he shared a lifetime of memories, laughter, and adventures.
He was preceded in death by his son, Timothy Joe Glaze; brothers and sisters: Sharon Glaze, Dwight Glaze, James "Jake" Glaze, Guy Glaze, Debbie Rawlins, and Barry Glaze.
Ronnie's life was marked by service, dedication, and love. Whether through his military service, his commitment to his family, or the friendships he cultivated throughout the years, he left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Though he has departed from our sight, his spirit, wisdom, and love will forever remain in our hearts.
A visitation will be held in Ronnie's honor on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at 9:00 AM at C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre, with Pastor Stanley Payne officiating.
Interment will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery with full military honors in recognition of Ronnie's faithful service to his country.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association in honor of Ronnie Glaze.
Arrangements are under the direction of C. Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre.
