Ruby Madeline (Mann) Funk of Ironton, Missouri died May 31, 2016 at her home in The Baptist Home at the age of 99 years. She was born on July 1, 1916 in Annapolis, Missouri to Robert and Julie (Hughes) Mann who preceded her in death along with two brothers and three sisters; Addie O'Kelley, Everett Mann, Grace Lewis, Carl Mann and Ruth Grigery. On August 27, 1934 she was united in marriage to Clyde William Funk who preceded her in death on May 19, 1985. To this union, three children were born: Carl Funk who passed away in 1995, Yvonne (Bill) Brown of Des Arc, Missouri and Janice (Jerry) Harding of Fredericktown, Missouri; eight grandchildren; Evan (Rhesa) Funk, Terri (Jeffery) Heuer, Penny (Eddy) Justice, Yvonne Willette, Danielle Funk, Byron Brown, Jay Brown, Jeremy (Amy) Harding, Wayne (Karen) Riggs, twenty-four great grandchildren, twelve great-great grandchildren as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relative and many friends. Ruby was a homemaker, raising three children and kept busy keeping a clean and tidy home while her husband, Clyde traveled many miles driving a tractor and trailer to support his family. She was self-taught in many crafts as crocheting for her family and alterations for many other individuals. Ruby was well known among her grandchildren and others as the sock monkey lady. She has more than likely made a troop of monkeys. Another talent she possessed was her beautiful crocheted rugs made from narrow strips of colorful fabrics. She had a witty sense of humor and always had a little song or jingle to entertain you. Ruby accepted our Lord as her savior in 1961 and was a charter member of Free Spirit General Baptist Church at Vulcan making many friends and unforgettable memories.
