Opaline Brewster, 96, of Leadwood, passed away January 28, 2016 at Parkland South in Farmington. She was born May 24, 1919 in Leadwood, to the late Henry and Emma (Lewis) Crump. Opaline was raised by her step-mother, the late Mattie (Simmons) Crump. She attended Wortham First Church of God, and was loved by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents and step mother; husband, Elmo “Wimpy” Brewster; brother, Melvin Crump; sister, Bernice Helms; and nephew, Kermit Moiser.
Opaline is survived by one step son, Donald Brewster and wife Mary Ida; one nephew, whom she raised as a son, Ronald Brewster; and nephew, Arnold Helms; two nieces, Ruth Ann Mosier and Virginia Campbell; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Leadwood, Friday, January 29, 2016 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The service will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Chapel in Leadwood, Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Rick Lasley officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Leadington.
