Rusty Newberry

Rusty Elayne Newberry, 68, of Desloge, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her beloved sons, and cherished friends. Born on October 8, 1957, in Bridgeton, she was the daughter of Curly and Peggy (Johnson) LaBarge. Rusty was a woman of great spirit and warmth, with a deep Christian faith that guided her throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by husband, Lonnie Newberry, father, Curly LaBarge and grandmother, Ethel Johnson, who was more like a mother.

Rusty is survived by sons, Robby Ross and fiancée Jennifer Wells, Christopher Chorn and wife Laura, Steve Ross; step-children, Carla DuVall and husband Max, Craig Newberry and wife Amanda, Nicholas Newberry and wife Chelsea, Joshua Newberry and wife Cameron; grandchildren, Erin Mincks (Timothy), Elizabeth Evens (Will), Jade Smith, Tristin Pope, Audrey Roark, Allyson Roark, Christian Roark, Steven Sylvestor Gordon “Sly” and Kayedy Ross; three great-grandchildren; siblings, Tracy Jarrel(Ron), David “Dutch” Oglesby (Ada Michelle) and Damon Oglesby (Jamie); fury friends, Red, Mango and Ava; many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends also survive.

Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Tuesday, May 5, 2026, from 10:00 AM until the service time of 12:00 PM. Interment will follow at St. Francois Memorial Park in Bonne Terre.
