Ruth Ann (Winebarger) Tucker, 85, of Farmington passed away April 28, 2025 at Ashbrook Manor. She was born June 6, 1939 in Avon, MO, where she lived for most of her life on the family farm. She is survived by her children, Terri (Bruce) Barron of Desloge MO, Linn (Julie) Tucker of Avon, MO, Delayn (Kenny) Jenkerson of Desloge, MO, and Teresa (Jerry) Pinkley of Farmington, MO. Also surviving are ten grandchildren, Courtney (Bret) Stanford, Caleb (Jenny) Barron, Brandon Tucker, Bailey (Chase) Sheldon, Alicia (Mike) Smith, Brittany (Sheldon) Dement, Rhianna (Tim) Garber, Dustin (Lindsay) Jenkerson, Ryan (Elizabeth) Marshall, Kyle (Melanie) Marshall. Also surviving is one sister, Wilma Elders and sister-in-law, Wilma Biri. She had 21 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lindell Tucker; her son, Steven Patterson; and her parents, Ralph and Dorothy Winebarger. She was a loving mother and grandmother to them all.
Ruth worked as a bookkeeper for Trimfoot Shoe Factory, Norman Parker and Darrel Mitchell Tax Accounting Agencies, and LuDon Fashions. She also worked at Weight Watchers and drove a school bus later in life. She served as the treasurer for Pine Log Baptist Church and Coffman School at various times throughout her life. She enjoyed membership with her friends in Ste. Genevieve Extension Club, Coffman PTA, her church’s ladies group and her Bunco women’s circle.
While she was most proud of being a wife, a mother and grandmother to her family, she also made quilts, gardened and cooked. She was locally famous for her chicken and dumplings and homemade bread. She found joy in the flowers in her yard and newly put up quarts of garden vegetables.
She was a faithful servant to God and to her church. She played the piano, taught Sunday school and Bible school, and led First Place classes for many years.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 5, 2025 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home – Taylor Chapel in Farmington. Visitation will resume on Tuesday at 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM at the C.Z. Boyer & Son Taylor Chapel with Rev. Eddie DeSpain officiating. Interment will follow at Hillview Memorial Gardens in Farmington. Memorial donations may be made to Pine Log Baptist Church.
