Beautiful Life of Sandy Ernst

Sandra F. Ernst (aka Sandy) from Chesterfield, MO joined our heavenly Father on Thursday, December 14, 2023. She had a brief and courageous few weeks with an extremely aggressive cancer, was admitted to hospice care on December 12 and passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. She embraced her end of life transition with strength, faith, courage and dignity.

Sandy had a vivacious, enthusiastic, and animated personality which earned her the nickname “Sanimation” from her daughter-in-law, Tara, which she embraced. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. She was larger than life and lit up any room that she entered. She didn’t know a stranger and made friends wherever she went. She was kind and compassionate and she never passed a person in need without stopping to give them money and a kind smile. She was a Prayer Warrior who petitioned our heavenly Father for hundreds of people over the years. She was a dedicated licensed insurance agent for over 30 years, often working late into the night to ensure her clients’ needs were covered. She was her kids and grandkids biggest cheerleader and loudest supporter. She was special and unique and is already greatly missed.

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents Tom and Virginia Ford (nee Henn) and her younger brother, Tom Ford (Julie). She leaves behind her loving husband of 57 years, Bob Ernst, her children, David Ernst (Julie), Karin Ernst Bentele (Doug) and Beth Ernst (Tara), as well as her 6 grandchildren, Kyle, Taylor and Justin Ernst, and Sabrina, Alex and Sophia Bentele, and her grand dog, Harley Ernst.

Visitation will be at Ascension Catholic Church in Chesterfield on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 starting at 9:30am until the time of Mass at 10:00am. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to one of Sandy’s favorite charities, Eye Thrive, in St. Louis. Arrangements are under the direction of C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge.
