Sarah Isabelle Cassidy

Sarah Isabelle (Horn) Cassidy, 91, of Farmington passed away August 6, 2025 at Cedarhurst of Farmington. She was born December 12, 1933 in Jefferson City, MO to the late Roy and Floretta (Mullinax) Horn.

Sarah’s family moved to Willard, MO in 1941 where she graduated from Willard High School in 1951. She married in 1955 and after her divorce moved to Farmington, MO in 1967. After moving to Farmington, she started classes at Mineral Area College and received her associate degree in 1970. She continued her college career at Southwest Missouri State University, receiving her bachelor's degree in 1972 and master’s degree in business education in 1974. Sarah started her teaching career in 1972 at Herculaneum High School and then transferred to Farmington High School in 1975. She later retired from the Farmington School District in 1995. Sarah lived with her best friend, Jo Ann Owens, whom she went to high school with. They also enjoyed traveling together until Jo Ann’s passing in 2012. Sarah was in Tapestry, a madrigal singing group in the area. In addition to presenting concerts at Mineral Area College, Tapestry went on to participate in an international madrigal festival in England. She was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church of Farmington for over 55 years.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her infant son, Michael Cassidy.

Sarah is survived by nephew, William Horn and wife Karen, and their children Melody Horn and Daniel Horn; great-niece, Sally Doyle and husband David, and their children, Zane and Ariana Doyle.

Visitation will be held at Memorial United Methodist Church of Farmington on Friday, August 8, 2025 from 2:00 PM until the time of a funeral service at 4:00 PM with Rev. Shannon Davis officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home – Taylor Chapel in Farmington.
