It is with both sadness and gratitude that we celebrate the life of Sarah Ann Lawson, who passed away on November 2, 2025, at the age of 41. Born on September 12, 1984, in Farmington, Missouri, to Charlie and Ellen (Middendorf) Berry, Sarah was a vibrant spark in the lives of many, known for her boundless energy, infectious smile, and unwavering love for her family.
Sarah graduated from North County High School in 2003 before pursuing her Bachelor's degree in Primary Education with a specialization in Special Education at Mineral Area College and Central Methodist College. In 2007, she began her rewarding career in education at the Marquand School District, later returning to her roots to teach at North County Intermediate—her alma mater. Sarah's passion for teaching reflected her deep dedication to nurturing the minds and spirits of her students.
A devoted "sports mom," Sarah enjoyed every moment spent cheering on her daughter, Tessa, in softball, basketball, volleyball, and dance. Her zest for life extended to her many hobbies, including crafting, camping, traveling, and riding side-by-sides. A true Disney enthusiast, Sarah found joy in the magic of family adventures, cuddling with her dogs and cherished every memory created with her loved ones.
Sarah’s grace and determination defined her spirit, especially as she faced her illness with a strength that inspired all who knew her. She continuously put others before herself, embodying the true meaning of love and selflessness.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Troy and Billie Middendorf; paternal grandparents, Harold Gene and Barbara Berry and Uncle Dennis Leigh.
Sarah is survived by her beloved husband of 15 years, Zach Lawson; her cherished daughter, Tessa Lawson; her loving parents, Charlie and Ellen Berry; brothers, Jon Berry and wife Sarah Jean, Danny Powers and wife Melissa; chosen sisters, Jessica Davis, Dawn Davis-Stellwag and Jessica Mattingly; niece, Penelope Berry; nephews, Paxton Berry, Brady (Lexi) and Bo Powers; in-laws, Mark and Tina Lawson; paternal in-law grandparents, Robert and Ruby Johnson; and her special fur babies, Shelby “Berta” and Izzi; and a cult of family and friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Wednesday, November 5, 2025, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM. The visitation will resume on Thursday, November 6, 2025, from 1:00 PM until the time of service at 4:00 PM. Pastors Jeremiah Dietiker and Mark Moss will be officiating.
