Sheila Ann (Byington) Middleton of Park Hills, passed away Saturday, January 15, 2022, at Southbrook Skilled Nursing Center, at the age of 86. She was born in Bonne Terre Hospital on November 10, 1935, to the late Dubart and Lauraine (Sutton) Byington. She was preceded in death by her parents and her second husband, Leroy Middleton.
She is survived by four children, Bart (Helen) Mitchell of Farmington, Gary (Melissa) Mitchell of Farmington, Kevin Mitchell of Frankclay, and Lea Ann Taylor of Leadington; eight grandchildren, Dustin Mitchell, David Mitchell, Leiren Jarvis, Amanda Mitchell, Joshua (Kiley) Mitchell, Brett (Allison) Taylor, Joseph Mitchell, and Allison Taylor; two great granddaughters, Magnolia Mitchell and Eva Mitchell, and a great grandson, Abram Mitchell, due in February. She is also survived by her beloved cousins from Minnesota, Evelyn Coffey, Kathy Arp, Pat Coffey, and Judy (Chuck) Hinz, and her close personal friends, Karen Robinson, Brenda Smith, and Brenda Robinson.
Sheila was a registered nurse for 42 years at the former Mineral Area Regional Medical Center in Farmington. For the last 32 years of her career, she was the supervisor of the OB department helping to deliver over 10,000 bundles of joy to area parents before her retirement. She was affectionately known as the “Baby Lady”.
In her free time, she loved crafts, travelling with friends to various states in the country, making cookies with her grandchildren, and St. Louis Cardinals Baseball.
Visitation will be held at C. Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home – Caldwell Chapel in Park Hills on Thursday, January 20, 2022, from 11:00 AM until service time at 1:00 PM with Pastor Bill Bond officiating. Interment will follow at Parkview Cemetery in Farmington.
The family requests that social distancing be practiced and masks be worn for the visitation and service.
