Shelby E. Ayers

Mr. Shelby Edward Ayers passed away late Saturday morning, November 19, 2016, at his Farmington residence at the age of 96 years, 8 months & 8 days. Shelby was born on March 11, 1920, in Farmington, and was the son of Julius Ayers and Anna Mae 'Alexander' Ayers. Also preceding in death were: his wife, Frances Nadine 'Johnson' Ayers (2009); a sister, Aleen Boyer a brother, Lionel Ayers; a grandson, Jeremy Ayers and a daughter-in-law, Leslia Ayers.

Shelby was retired from the Farmington School District and a member and Deacon at Delassus First Baptist Church.

Survivors Include: 2 sons - Larry Ayers, of Farmington, and Kerry (& Jackie) Ayers, of Farmington. 4 grandchildren - Mark (& Mary) Ayers; Robin (& Mike) Pogue; Larry G. (& Tisa) Ayers, and Aaron Ayers. Also, 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great, great-granddaughter, Hadleigh Keller.

Visitation : Monday, 5-8 p.m. Visitation resumes, Tuesday @ 6:30 a.m.

Funeral : Tuesday, 11:00 a.m., November 22, 2016

at : TAYLOR Funeral Service CHAPEL, with Rev. Ron Poole officiating

Interment follows at : Hillview Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Farmington
