Shirley Harrington

Shirley Jean Smith Harrington went to join her family and friends in heaven on January 29th, 2022.  What a heavenly reunion that took place.  All her questions were finally answered, all the sights she enjoyed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Corrine Smith, brother, Don Smith, husbands Ray Harrington and Roger Norback, and beloved niece, Lorrie Hahn.

She leaves many special friends and family, especially her children, Janet Harrington Stricklin (Rick Stricklin), Keven Harrington (Lynn Harrington), her grandchildren, Tiffany Stricklin Lesso (Joseph Lesso), Kayla Stricklin, Mitchell Harrington (Kayla Mathis), Mason Harrington (Valeria Schwent Harrington), sister, Janet Smith, great grandchildren, Bennett Lesso, Falyn Harrington, and Oliver Harrington, and beloved nieces and nephews.

She leaves us with no regrets as she lived her life to the fullest and was ready at any time to make her final journey.  She will always live in our hearts and be as near as a whisper.

While Shirley worked at Wetterau, she was an entrepreneur with her first husband, Ray, owning a donut shop (Dixie Cream), a supply store (Frontier Distributing), a billboard company (Delta Outdoor Advertising), was a Real Estate Broker, and owned rental homes and storage units.  Shirley was also a strong supporter of her second husband, Roger Norback, in his business, Pet Chef Express.  She loved and adored both of them, as they did her.

The things she shared with us on earth will always be remembered and her many sermons she gave will live down through generations.  If they should be forgotten, she will remind us in some way.

Her laughter and joking would bring sunshine to your day and her generous heart helped many people throughout her life time.

Shirley fought and conquered many obstacles during her lifetime.  Besides her heart conditions and many broken bones, in 2015, Shirley defeated a Whipple surgery and cardiac arrest, stopping her heart for 28 minutes, open heart surgery in 2019, and a severe diagnosis of Covid in 2020.  God knew it would have to be something with no option of repair, no option for her to fight, that would bring her home to Him.

Sissy, Mom, Aunt Shirley, and MeMe, will forever live in the hearts and minds that loved her most until we see her again.

A life celebration is being planned.  Information will be shared soon.  Arrangements are under the direction of C.Z. Boyer and Son – Taylor Chapel.
