Shirley Jean Martin

Mrs. Shirley Martin passed away Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2018, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, at the age of 82 years, 4 months & 21 days. Shirley was born Sept. 23, 1935, in Doe Run & was the daugher of Harvey Hampton & Elizabeth 'Bainter' Hampton. Also preceding-in-death were: a son, David Martin, 2 sisters - Geneva Jones & Margie Wells. 5 brothers, Wilburn Hampton, Orville Hampton, Donnie Hampton, Raymond Hampton & Edward Hampton. Also, 1 granddaughter, Stephanie Martin, and her step-mom, Glenda Hampton.

Shirley attended and was a dedicated Sunday School Teacher at Pendleton United Baptist Church in Doe Run. Shirley retired after 28 years as a cook for the Farmington School District.

Survivors Include: her husband of 66 years, Jerrel D. Martin, Sr., of Farmington. 4 children - Jerrel (& Rebekah) Martin, Jr., of Doe Run; Jake Guy (& Joyce) Martin, of Doe Run; Kathy Wagner, of Panama City Beach, FLA & Gregory (Tamela) Martin, of Van Buren, MO. 3 sisters - Laura Mae McDaniel, of IL; Pearl Hovis, of Fredericktown, MO., & Anna Marie Moore, of Park Hills. Brothers: Fred (& Priscilla) Hampton, of Doe Run; Howard "Sonny" (& Ann) Hampton; Frank (& Faye) Hampton, of Doe Run; Everett (& Rosalee) Hampton, of Farmington. 12 grandchildren - Amy (& Jonathan) Ketcherside, Carla (& Roy) Campbell, Jennifer Martin, Christina (& Christian) Devere, Charles (& Kat) Roland, V, Jakie (& April) Martin, Jessica (& Ben) Zimmerman, William "Billy" (& Tiffany) Roland, Amanda (& Patrick) Sullivan, Ashley (& Cory) Smith, David Martin & Adam (& Jennifer) Martin. Also surviving are 29 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and 1 on-the-way.

Visitation : Saturday, 5-8 p.m. Visitation resumes, Sunday @ 8:00 a.m.

Funeral : Sunday, 2:00 p.m., February 18, 2018
