Shirley Lee Barker

Shirley Barker, 75, of Leadwood, passed away December 22, 2015, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born November 9, 1940, in St. Louis, to the late Leo Grady and Mercedes Olive (Hemman) Chaney. Shirley was a devoted Christian for 49 years and is a member of the First Baptist Church in Leadwood.

            She is preceded in death by her parents; and two grandchildren, Nickie and Jesse Kuhl; and one sister, Thelma Beydofer.

            Shirley is survived by seven children, Norma Lee (Mrs. Wayne) Crump of Park Hills, Loretta Jean (Mrs. Bryan) Fortner of Irondale, Vickie Lynn (Mrs. Bill) Kuhl of Farmington, Linda Jane (Mrs. Paul) Keen of Bonne Terre, Anita Elizabeth (Mrs. John) Gibson of Leadwood, Charles Roscoe Barker and wife Kristi of Farmington, and Tina Louise (Mrs. Kyle) Burr of Leadwood; twenty-seven grandchildren, Christopher Crump, Rebecca Turner, Joseph Crump, Shirley Crump, Gregory Fortner, Jeffery Fortner, Brandi (Kenneth) Bell, Jamie (Brent) Brewington, Daniel (Candance) Walker, Jarred (Megan) Wampler, Kyle (Codi) Wampler, Brittney (Joseph) Ash, Adam (Leah) Oder, Amber (Artie) Pospeshel, Josh Oder, Levy Gibson, Ryan Gibson, Racheal Barker, Brandon Stacy, John Gurule, Ashley Barker, Alex Barker, Zachary Barker, Brittenie (Sean) Lincoln, Kyler Burr, and Cody Burr; forty great-grandchildren; sister, Gladys (Mrs. Robert) Cook of Moscow Mills; and brother, Melvin Chaney of Cleveland, OH.

            Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Monday, December 28, 2015 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The service will be held in the C.Z. Boyer and Son Chapel, Tuesday, December 29, 2015, at 11:00 AM with Rev. Dean Berry officiating.
