Shirley Shannon

Shirley Jean Shannon, 84, of Farmington passed away August 21, 2021 at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis. She was born September 19, 1936 in Farmington to the late Kash Herman Lunsford and Isabelle (Newberger) Lunsford. Shirley was the youngest of nine children, all of whom preceded her in death, five sisters, Margaret Welch, Nellie Roberts, Roberta Willhite, Irene Kennon, Elvena Harter; three brothers, Kasher Lunsford, Glennwood Lunsford and Dillard Lunsford.

Shirley was married to Eugene Shannon on July 15, 1956 at Esther, MO. They were blessed with one son, Robert Shannon whom preceded them in death. A set of twins survives, Darrel Shannon and wife Martina of Germany and Carol Skaggs and husband Davy of Desloge, MO.

Shirley graduated from Farmington High School with the class of 1955. Shirley and Eugene were members of the First Baptist Church of Delassus.

By request of Shirley, a private graveside service will be held at Little Vine Cemetery in Ste. Genevieve County with Pastor Davy Skaggs officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home – Taylor Chapel in Farmington.
