Shirley Rae Shelton, age 77 of Imperial, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at the Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. She was born March 9, 1940 in Monsanto, Illinois to Samuel Eugene and Dorothy Marie (Rodgers) Hunt. On May 21, 1956 she was united in marriage to Theodore "Ted" Shelton who preceded her in death on March 16, 2002. Her parents and one son, Lt. Col. Theodore F. Shelton grandson, Daniel Shelton, two brothers, Robert Zimmerman and James Hunt and two sisters, Sandy Lockhart and Betty Massey also precedes her in death. She is survived by one son - Kenneth Shelton and wife Margaret of Imperial; two daughters - Sharon Foard and husband David of Frisco, Texas and Karen Smith of Farmington, Missouri; daughter-in-law - Laurie Shelton; one brother - Roger Hunt and wife Lina; three sisters - Debbie (Hunt) Mayes, Diana (Hunt) Johnson and Carol (Hunt) Isenhart; twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Shirley had worked for the Trimfoot Shoe Manufacturing Company in Farmington; she enjoyed sewing, embroidering and genealogy. She was a member and past officer of the Sarah Barton Murphy Chapter and Daughter of the American Revolution. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m., on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Wilson Funeral Home in Fredericktown, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at Wilson Funeral Home. Internment will be at the Pine Union Cemetery in near Marquand. Memorial contributions are suggested to the ALS (Lou Gherig's Disease) Foundation. Condolences may be posted on this website.
