Sonny Waller

          Sonny Waller, 79, of Desloge, passed away August 30, 2021, at his residence.  He was born June 10, 1942, in Piedmont, to the late Ernest and Elsie Virginia (Usery) Waller.  Sonny graduated from Desloge High School Class of 1962 and later served his country in the United States Navy.  He is a member of the First Baptist Church in Desloge, USS Shangri-La Reunion Association and USS Shangri-La St. Louis Breakfast Club.  Sonny was a past Commander of VFW Post #5741, former member of Desloge Auxiliary Police and St. Francois Sherriff Department Auxiliary.  He worked for North County R-I as a bus driver and custodian.  Retired from Chrysler and later worked as a driver for Crown Valley Winery and Crown Motors.  Sonny enjoyed attending all activities his kids and grandkids participated in.

          He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Mitch Albano; son in-law, Barry McCord; parents in-law, Sieki and Geneva Tiefenauer.

          Sonny is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Janet (Tiefenauer) Waller; children, Deneen (Dennis) McCord Parmley, Diane (Mike) Brewer, Scott Waller, Rusty Waller, Doug (Claudia) Waller; grandchildren, Maegen (Randy) Turnbough, Melissa (Tyler) Dill, Madison (Jared) Gamblin, Bailey (fiancé Logan) Waller, Lesley Brewer, Nick (Megann) Albano, Aaron (Jennifer) Brewer, Ryan (Colleen) Brewer, Chris (Tessa) Brewer; great-grandchildren, Maelynn and Selah Turnbough, Lainey Gamblin, Azlynn Clay, Landyn Pratt, Markus Albano, Bo Brewer, Crosby Brewer, and Cade Hutson.

          Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Thursday, September 2, 2021, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.  The service will be held in the C.Z. Boyer and Son Chapel Friday, September 3, 2021 at 11:00 AM, with Pastor, Dr. Bradford Laubinger officiating.  Interment will follow at St. Francois Memorial Park in Bonne Terre.  Memorials may be directed to the First Baptist Church in Desloge or The Foundation for Barnes-Jewish Hospital, Memorial contributions may be sent to 1001 Highlands Plaza Drive West, Suite 140 St. Louis, MO 63110 or submitted online at www.foundationbarnesjewish.org/how-to-give/give-now.
