Steven Earl Murphy

Steve Murphy, 48, of Desloge, passed away October 12, 2018, at Parkland Health Center in Bonne Terre. He was born December 20, 1969, in Bonne Terre. He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence “Larry” Murphy; grandparents, Earl J. and Mary Evelyn Murphy, and Lyman and Lorretta (Jaster) Hoehn.

 He was a graduate in the 1988 class at North County High School. Two weeks after graduation he joined the United States Marine Corps where he proudly served his country for 6 years serving 3 tours in Iraq. Steve loved our country, his family and his friends.

Steve is survived by his mother, Marsha Susanne Murphy; 2 daughters, Brianna (Jeffrey) Laborce, and Alixandrya Murphy; 4 grandchildren, Taylor Catherine, Landon Asher, Noah Camden Laborce, and Kentley Drew Short; 2 brothers, Lawrence Scott Murphy and Pete Darrell Murphy; his loving and loyal dog, Nellie; many other family members, and a host of friends also survive.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 pm to 9 pm at the C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre. Funeral service will be Thursday at 10:30 am at the C.Z. Boyer & Son Chapel with Rev. Randy Murphy officiating. Burial with full military honors will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Wounded Warrior Project.
