Tami Lou Pinkston

Tami Pinkston, 52 of Park Hills, passed away July 22, 2018, at Country Meadows Nursing Center. She was born November 2, 1965, in Farmington, to the late Bobby and Shirley (Brown) Pinkston. Tami was born with Down Syndrome, but that did not hold her back in life. She graduated from Special Acres State School in Park Hills. She then entered Special Handicap Olympics at Mineral Area College, where she won a 1st place ribbon with her walker. Numerous times she went to Branson because Box Car Willie was her favorite singer and he would give her big hugs. The last 12 years, she spent at Country Meadows Nursing Home, where she made friends and the staff loved her. Tami loved to collect stuffed animals and she had several. She would never hesitate to give people hugs or a smile.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Terry Pinkston; grandmother, Reva Brown; and grandparents, Curtis and Lottie Pinkston.

Tami is survived by her sister, Tricia Rogers and husband Keith of Desloge; several uncles, cousins, step-nephews, and special friends, Jim and Debbie Vickery also survive.

A Celebration of Life will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Saturday, August 4, 2018 from 12:00 PM until service time at 2:00 PM. Jim Vickery will be officiating, assisted by Rev. Dwight Jones. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family, in care of C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home. Tami was buried at Aulsbury Chapel Cemetery in Bonne Terre, Tuesday, July 24, 2018.
