Teresa Sanford, 89, of Farmington, formerly of Bismarck, passed away peacefully at her residence on August 5, 2025. Born on July 31, 1936, in Chloride, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Allen Louis and Hattie Mae (Knight) Markham. Teresa led a fulfilling life dedicated to her work and her family. For over 20 years, Teresa was employed as an assembler at Allied Health Co. in St. Louis, where she contributed her skills and dedication to the production of essential medical equipment. Outside of her professional life, Teresa found joy in simpler pleasures; she loved working on puzzles, tending to her flowers and watching her favorite cooking shows, especially those hosted by Miss Brown. However, nothing filled her heart quite like the time spent with her family. Sundays were particularly special for time spent with family, filled with laughter and delicious meals, her favorite being Chinese cuisine.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Junior Eugene “Gene” Sanford; great-grandson, T.J. Weiss; great-granddaughter, Deliah Fancher; siblings, Cora Bryant, Josephine Cole, Nina Reese, Bill Markham, Herb Markham, Alda Howard, Dorothy Cashon, Nellie Crowe, Margaret Imergoot, Roberta Ellis, Carrie Lewis and John Markham. Teresa is survived by her loving family, who will forever cherish the memories they created together; children, Brenda Carroll (Dave), Harold “Ray” Fancher and Hattie “Bonnie” Sanford (Walter); four grandchildren, James Cottner (Roberta), Patricia Lachance (Rick), Kelly Young (Nathan) and Kayla Schoonover (Josh); six great-grandchildren, Steven Waites (Stacey), Sara Slinger (Robert), Cody Cottner (Casey), Jesse Cottner (Lexi), Dustin Young (Maddie) and Jameson Schoonover; eight great-great grandchildren, Easton, Eli, Olivia and Amelia Waites, Peytin and Haylee Hill, Jackson Slinger and Haven Cottner; one sister, Dixie Risher; along with several nieces, nephews other family members and friends.
Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Monday, August 11, 2025, from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM. Pastor Cody Cottner will be officiating.
