With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Thomas Ray DeClue, affectionally know as Tom, who departed this life peacefully at the Presbyterian Manor in Farmington, on June 12, 2026. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Tom embraced life with unyielding enthusiasm and a quick wit that left a lasting mark on all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents Willard H. and Melba (Cummings) DeClue.
A proud veteran, Tom dedicated his service to the United States Army as he courageously served in Vietnam. He built a thriving career in Maintenance with Chrysler Automotive in Fenton, where he devoted nearly 30 years of his life, earning respect and admiration from colleagues and friends alike.
Tom was a man who found joy in the simple things. Whether enjoying a cold beer, playing cards with friends, or reveling in the tunes of his favorite artists, Jerry Lee Lewis and Waylon Jennings, he truly knew how to savor every moment. His love for the outdoors, especially hunting, was a testament to his adventurous spirit and passion for life.
Above all, Tom was a devoted pop, to his cherished son, Tommy DeClue, and to his son’s devoted companion, Tina Courtway, who Tom enjoyed sharing his strong sense of humor. He left behind a legacy of love through his grandson, Austin DeClue, and great-granddaughter, Gracelyn; he also leaves behind a beloved sister, Pam Hughes and niece Tina Gann-Groves.
A graveside service to celebrate Tom’s life will take place on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at 2:00 P.M. at Doe Run Memorial Cemetery in Doe Run Missouri, with military honors and Elk service to follow. Friends, family, and all who knew him are invited to join together to honor an extraordinary man who lived life on his terms and was always considered the comeback kid with his humor. Memorials can be made in honor of Tom to the Wounded Warrior Project who Tom gave graciously to through his life. Arrangements under the direction of C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Desloge.
Tom’s spirit will forever remain in our hearts as we celebrate the vibrant life he led and the incredible legacy he leaves behind. From his quick wit to his unwavering friendship, he will be sorely missed but fondly remembered. Rest in peace, dear Tom—you brought so much light into our lives.
