Timothy Alan Stegall passed away peacefully on February 4, 2026, at his family home in Bonne Terre, Missouri, surrounded by his sons, brothers, and loved ones, after a long journey with kidney disease.
Tim was born on March 10, 1960, and was the middle of five sons born to Lynn and Fern Stegall, both of whom preceded him in death. He grew up on Primrose Road in Bonne Terre, in the same home he would later return to in his final years.
Tim graduated from North County High School in 1978 and shortly thereafter left Missouri to work in the oil fields, traveling the country and developing the strong work ethic that would define the rest of his life. He eventually settled in Cordell, Oklahoma, where he became familiar and trusted presence in the community. In Cordell, Tim co-owned Erv’s Quik Serv, serving generations of customers for 40 years before retiring in 2019.
A true jack-of-all-trades, Tim was always willing to help. He worked countless side jobs building fences and buildings, repairing tractors, and fixing just about anything that needed fixing. He was known as a steady, hardworking, and kind man who showed up, lent a hand without being asked, and followed through.
Tim loved the outdoors and found particular joy in fishing, spending countless hours on Foss Lake. He also had a special bond with animals. Animals were naturally drawn to him, and he treated them with patience, gentleness, and respect, forming connections that reflected the care he showed to people throughout his life.
In 1983, Tim welcomed his son, Alan James (AJ) Stegall, who was the pride and joy of his life. Tim was a devoted father who worked hard to provide, lead by example, and pass on the values of honesty, perseverance, and kindness.
As his health began to decline in 2023, Tim returned to Bonne Terre and once again lived in the home where he was born and raised. In 2024, he was saved and baptized and found comfort and community through Primrose Baptist Church.
Tim is survived by his son, AJ Stegall, and AJ’s husband, Austin Klososky, of Oklahoma City; and the four Stegall brothers: Howard (Debbie), Greg (Peggy), Chris (Debbie), and Mark (Laura), all of Bonne Terre, Missouri. He also leaves behind dozens of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends who will miss him deeply.
Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer Funeral Home in Bonne Terre, on Thursday, February 12, 2026 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Visitation will resume Friday, February 13, 2026, from 9:00 am until service time of 11:00 am., Pastor Randy Murphy will be officiating. Burial will follow at Adam’s Hillcrest Cemetery in Bonne Terre.
Memorial donations may be made to the Primrose Baptist Church Building Fund or Oklahoma Children’s Theatre in Tim’s memory.
