Thomas E. “Tom” Boylan

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Thomas E. Boylan, age 72, of Bonne Terre,  who departed this life on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at Mercy Jefferson Hospital in Festus, surrounded by his loving family. Thomas was born on Sunday, May 30, 1954, in Van Nuys, California, to the late James Owen and Olga (Roberts) Boylan. He was fondly known as Tom to his family and friends.

Tom was a retired long-haul truck driver, having dedicated more than 30 years to a career on the road. He was a true hard worker who took great pride in providing for and caring for his family. His dedication to his work was matched by his love and devotion to the people who meant the most to him.

Tom was a loving family man who cherished spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed making memories with those he loved and was a member of the Paddle Club at Lake Timberline, where he enjoyed fellowship, friendship, and time at the lake.

Tom will be lovingly remembered by his devoted spouse, Sandra; his children, Michael Boylan and wife Shannon, Marissa Buffa and husband Phillip, Matthew Boylan and wife Amanda, and Myles Boylan and wife Theresa; grandchildren, Breyanna Portell, Eric Hardin, Bailey Carrico, Cody Boylan, Kolten Boylan, Owen Boylan, Jayden Boulding, Sydney Boulding, Ethan Boylan, Eli Boylan, Elliott Buffa, Amelia Buffa; great-grandchildren, Elziah, Charllotte, Claire, Kolter, Eleanor, Elena and Addison; siblings, Jimmy, Michael, Patrick, and John “Terry” Boylan, along with several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Tom was preceded in death by his daughter, Megan Boylan; brothers, Brian Boylan and Greg Boylan; sister, Carol Matthison.

His legacy will live on through the family he loved so dearly and the countless memories he created throughout his life. Tom will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

A Celebration of Life for “Tom” will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 4:00 PM at C. Z. Boyer & Son Chapel in Bonne Terre, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Tom’s memory.
