Troy Earl Cureton, age 89 of Fredericktown, Missouri, passed away on Friday, December 15, 2023, at the Ozark Manor Care Center in Fredericktown. He was born on May 3, 1934, in Fredericktown to Frank Elake and Verna Maude (Miller) Cureton.


On May 10, 1958, at Rhodes Chapel Church he was united in marriage to Irene Yvonne Bollinger, she preceded him in death on October 8, 2017.


Those surviving include his three children – Mike Cureton and wife Patty of Fredericktown, Kim Long and husband Ronnie of Fredericktown and Michele McBride and significant other Randy Tuttle of Farmington, Missouri: grandchildren – Nathan (Marissa) Pogue, Casey (John) Quarando, Linley (Benny) Slinkard and Molly (Drew) Fetters; nine great grandchildren; brother – Paul Cureton and wife Nancy of Fredericktown, three sisters – Carol Vance and husband Terry and Brenda Pogue both of Fredericktown and Linda Beaty and husband Wayne of Barnhart, Missouri; Sisters-In- Law - Joyce Cureton of Fredericktown and Joyce Cureton of Kentucky, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.


In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by one grandson – Adam Long and one great grandson – Wyler Slinkard. four brothers – Carl, Donnie, Jack and Delmar (Pat) Cureton and four sisters – Olga Jean (Cub) Yount, Betty (Jesse) James, Charlotte Cureton and Shirley (Jerry) Bennett and brother-in-law - Donnie Pogue.


Troy was a cattle farmer and owner and operator of Fredericktown Auction Co.; he attended Meadow Heights Church in Fredericktown.


Visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., on Sunday, December 17, 2023, at Meadow Heights Church and from 9:00 - 11: 00 a.m., on Monday, December 18, 2023, at the Church.


Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, December 18, 2023, at Meadow Heights Church with Pastor Bryan Mills Bro. Terry Vance officiating.


Interment will be at Walker Cemetery in Fredericktown.


Memorial contributions are suggested to the Madison County Food Bank.


Condolences may be posted on this website.


A dinner is planned after interment at The Venue at Sawyers Landing 1055 Madison 212 Fredericktown, Missouri
