Velma Schwent

          Velma Schwent, 91, of Bonne Terre, passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2019, at Southbrook Skilled Nursing Center. She was born on Tuesday, August 7, 1928, in Thayer to the late Jasper and Ava (Dale) Doran.

             In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Roy Kenneth Peiffer Sr.; seven brothers, Alfred, Paul, Clinton, Cliffton, Orville, Lehmon, Waymon and a sister, Vida

            Velma is survived by her loving husband, Bernell Schwent; sons, Mike Peiffer and wife Sharon, Ken Peiffer and wife Sherri,; six grandchildren, Greg, Andy, Deven, Levi, Kody and Brian; eight great- grandchildren, Kayson, Riley, Brantley, Avarae, Adalynne, Quinn, Nova and Paisley.

           Velma loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed flowers and sitting on her porch watching the lake views. She retired from the Kroger Corporation.

         The family is planning a private family memorial service at a later date. Arrangements under the direction of C. Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Desloge.
