Vernon Grover Logan, Sr.

Vernon Grover Logan, Sr. 90, of Bonne Terre passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at Missouri Baptist, in St. Louis surrounded by his loving family. He was born Tuesday, March 29, 1932 in the township of Charette, Missouri, he was the son of the late Forest and Myrtle (McVey) Logan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Audrey Logan and a brother, Norman Logan.

Vernon proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War, he was recognized for his honorable service with several military medals, Korean Service Medal, Bronze Service Star and the United Nations Service Medal. After completing active service time, he then transferred to the Army Reserve to complete 8 years of service.  He worked in the Trucking industry as a transporter for Allied Systems Ford Motor Company for over 45 years. Vernon enjoyed spending time with his family, his fur babies, living in Terre Du Lac, boating on all the lakes. Vernon loved all of his children, he was especially blessed to have his son, Vernon Logan, Jr. as his roommate, best friend and caregiver they were inseparable.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Vernon is survived by his loving wife, Berniece Logan; children, Daniel Logan, David (wife Judy) Logan, Timothy (wife Joan) Logan Michelle (husband Brian) Bannister, Joseph (wife Christina) Logan, Vernon Logan, Jr; fifteen grandchildren and lots of wonderful great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held at C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre, Monday, August 1, 2022 from 4pm until service time of 6pm Inurnment will take place at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri with full military honors Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at 11am.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Farmington Pet adoption Center.
