Vernon Ratty

Vernon J. Ratty, 74 of Bonne Terre passed away

November 13, 2013 at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. He was born

September 14, 1939 in Potosi. He was a member of the Gospel Light Freewill

Baptist Church. Vernon retired from Boilermakers #27 after 32 years.He was preceded in death by his parents, General

Jasper and Elviria (Chamberlain) Ratty; grandson, Christopher VanMeter; two

brothers, Stanley Ratty and Leon Ratty; sister, Charlotte Drinen.Vernon is survived by his wife, Roseann (Blunt)

Ratty; four children, Carla Snodgrass and friend Glenn Duncan, Katherine (Mrs.

Steve) Hografe, Karen (Mrs. Dave) Hografe, Vernon Keith Ratty; four

grandchildren, Denny Snodgrass, Veronica Johnson, Katrina Hografe, Steven

Hografe; four great-grandchildren, Larry, James, Leeann, Ralph; sister, Freda

(Mrs. Don) Marler; brother, Tillman Ratty and wife Marilyn.Visitation will be Friday, November 15, 2013 from

3:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Gospel Light Freewill Baptist Church in Bonne

Terre. Service will be Saturday at 11:00 AM at the Gospel Light Freewill

Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Allison and Rev. Pete Ruble officiating.

Interment will follow at Adams Hillcrest Cemetery. Memorials may be made to

Gospel Light Freewill Baptist Church.
