Viola Emogene Bellew, age 77 passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at her home near Fredericktown, Missouri. She was born on April 9, 1939 in Womack, Missouri, a daughter of Frederick Charles and Marie Irene (Dalton) Steffan. On May 22, 1955 at the Oak Hill Free Will Baptist Church in Cherokee Pass she was united in marriage to James Monroe Bellew, he preceded her in death on October 31, 2014. Also preceding her are her parents, one son- David Bellew, brother - Charles Steffan and sisters - Verna Cartee, Virginia Anthony and an infant sister.
She is survived by one daughter - Connie (Roger) Cox of Fredericktown; brothers - Bill (Mildred) Steffan of Fredericktown and Frederick (Mary) Steffan Jr. of Womack; sisters - Naomi Cartee, Iola (Acey) Ballew and Iona Jarrett all of Womack and six grandchildren; Michelle Skiles, Michael Bellew, Amanda Hrouda, Stephen Cox, Justin Cox and Jason Cox; twelve great-grandchildren and special friend - Bill Edmond of Fredericktown.
Viola had worked at the Tinnin Garment Manufacturing Company in Fredericktown; she enjoyed cooking, gardening, yard word and taking care of her family; she was a member of the Oak Hill Free Will Baptist Church at Cherokee Pass.
Visitation will be from 5:00 - 8:00 on Friday, September 2, 2016 at Wilson Funeral Home in Fredericktown. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at Wilson Funeral Home with Bro. Clyde Bess officiating. Interment will be at the Central Community Cemetery near Cherokee.
