Viola Davis

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Viola Faye Davis, affectionately known as "Vi," who left this world on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, surrounded by her love ones at Parkland Hospital in Farmington, Missouri, at the age of 49. Born on Monday, April 12, 1976, in Bonne Terre, Vi was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and cherished friend to many. 

Vi dedicated her life to caring for others as a nurse in the in-home health care industry. Her compassion and commitment to her patients exemplified her nurturing spirit. Vi was not just a caregiver; she was a bright light in the lives of all who knew her. Vi is survived by her beloved husband, Leeman Davis, and their cherished children: Janice Davis, Cheyanne (Christian) Gerst, Leeman Davis, Chance Davis, and Alexander Prior. 

She took immense joy in the company of her grandchildren; Ezekiel, Lucas, Malachi, Jeremiah Gerst (to be born soon), Grason, Everligh and Wade Davis; special friend, Mandy Prior, and it was in their laughter and smiles that she found her greatest happiness. She also leaves behind her loving parents, Robert and Faye Degonia, and her dear brothers, Phil and Bobby Degonia. 

Vi was known for her creativity and passion for hobbies that brought her joy, including sewing, building with Legos, crafting beautiful Lego flowers, and camping with family while enjoying her favorite beverage a cold Dr. Pepper. These activities allowed her to share her love and creativity with her family, creating cherished memories that will last a lifetime. Vi will be deeply missed but never forgotten, for her spirit will always remain in the hearts of those she touched. In her memory, let us continue to share love, laughter, and kindness, just as she would have wanted.

A graveside service will be held Monday, June 23, 2025 at 9:00 AM gathering at Bonne Terre Cemetery.
