Violet Lucille (Campbell) Edwards, age 98, beloved wife of the late William W Edwards passed away April 29, 2021 at Dixon, MO. She is preceded in death by her parents Freeman and Lottie Campbell and also by 3 sisters and 5 brothers. Violet Lucille Edwards, daughter of the late Freeman and Lottie (Mayberry) Campbell, was born February 25, 1923 in Roselle, Missouri. She graduated from Ironton High School with the Class of 1943. Shortly after graduation, Violet moved to St. Louis and began working at the defense factory and box factory. While in St. Louis, Violet met a young man by the name of William Woodrow Edwards who was stationed at Scott Air Force Base. They were united in marriage on April 28, 1951 in St. Louis. Due to William being in the military, they were transferred to different duties stations, to include South Carolina, Washington, and Arizona. Violet and William were blessed with two children: Linda and William. The family moved to Phelps County in 1960 and in 1967, they moved to their current home outside of Dixon, Missouri. Violet was a hardworking woman and took great pride in helping to provide for her family. She worked as a secretary in patient administration at the hospital, at an OBGYN clinic, and also the education center all on Fort Leonard Wood. Violet was a talented artist and painted several oil paintings throughout her life. She also enjoyed music, dancing, making jewelry with polished stones and she loved to travel. She also had a tremendous sense of humor and enjoyed making people laugh. Most importantly, she loved her family dearly and treasured those times she could spend with them. Violet will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by all those that knew and loved her. She leaves to cherish her memory, her two children, Linda G. Carson Veasman (Ken) of Dixon, MO, and William Freeman Edwards (Sue) of Grain Valley, MO; four grandchildren and eight step-grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, sixteen step-great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild, and several step-great-great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
