Virgil "Bud" Eugene DeVine, age 92 of Citrus Springs, Florida (formerly of Fredericktown) passed away on Wednesday, October 3, 2018. He was born on October 4, 1925 in Madison, Illinois, a son of Jay and Mary (Lumos) DeVine. Bud grew up in St. Louis, Missouri and joined the Army-Airforce at an early age. He was stationed in France during WWII where he was a Tail Gunner with the B26 Marauder. Following his military service he met and married his love Jean Pogue on February 12, 1949 in Clay County, Arkansas. He joined the Machinist Hall Union in 1950 and was an active member until his retirement in 1981. He became employed with the TWA in 1956 where he was lead mechanic. During that time he was transferred to Saudi Arabia for seven years where he wrote instruction manuals for the ground equipment for Saudi Airlines. He lived in Bismarck, Missouri for fourteen years, Fredericktown for five years and then retired to Florida. Upon retirement he and his wife Jean traveled extensively. He was a member of the VFW Post 6947 in Bismarck. Bud is preceded in death by his wife Jean in 2008 and his sisters – Ilia Whiteside and Irma Moore. He is survived by his daughter – Carol Parham and husband Ron of Imperial, Missouri; brother – Dale DeVine and wife Priscilla of Florissant, Missouri; grandchildren – Sara Shaw and Evan Shaw and wife Andrea; great grandchildren – Chloe, Cassidy, Kennedy and Jaxon. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m., on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri. Condolences may be posted on this website.
