Virginia Lee Wedepohl, 88, of Farmington (originally St. Louis) passed away March 23, 2018 at Mercy Jefferson Hospital. She was born January 10, 1930 to the late Rev. Charles E. and Geneva (Cole-Ringer) Green. Ginnie was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Walter Wedepohl, her son, Steven Lee Wedepohl, and her brother, the well-known gospel singer Ralph Green.
She was a very active member with the Mineral Area Baptist Church. She loved everyone and helped many people emotionally and financially while she was able. Her undying faith in God was amazing. Ginnie was a role model for many and will be greatly missed.
Ginnie is survived by her daughter, Cheryl (Glenn) Hartmann; 3 grandchildren, Jeffrey (Pattie) Burns, Jesse (Stephanie) Hartmann, and Jessie Wooldridge; 4 great-grandchildren, Colten, Makayla, Cannon, and Bryan; sister-in-law of Mary (Ralph) Green; brother-in-law of Robert Rockford. Beloved Aunt, Great-Aunt, and cousin.
Visitation will be from 5 pm until time of the funeral service at 7 pm on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at the C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Desloge. Rev. Max Hardy will officiate the service. Visitation will resume Thursday from 11 am - 1 pm in St. Louis at Shepard Funeral Chapel, 9255 Natural Bridge Rd. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association.
