Virginia Manning

Virginia Ann Manning, 86, of Farmington passed away June 15, 2022 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. She was born August 5, 1935 in St. Louis. Virginia was a member of the First Baptist Church of Farmington. She retired from Florsheim Shoe Company in St. Louis. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, loved dancing at the local senior centers, and also enjoyed making ceramics, quilting and cross stitching. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Eva (Cunningham) Stewart; first husband, Fern Walter Lee Smith; second husband, John Edward Manning; grandson, Robert Chartrand Halbrook; great-grandson, Robert Dillon Karn; sister, June Valentine; two brothers, James Stewart and Harold Stewart.

Virginia is survived by her daughter, Tammy Halbrook and husband Bill, Sr.; seven grandchildren, Patricia Ann (Mark) Whitaker, John Anthony (Lori) DeJessa, Joseph LeRoy (Cathy) Smith; Don (Theresa) Halbrook, Michelle (Marty) Jackson, William (Michelle) Halbrook, Jr.; Jackie (Terry) Duffel; eighteen great-grandchildren; Ryan, Noah, Lucas, Skyla, Cheyanne, Jackson, Kiersten, Cody, William III, Winter, Harper, Poppy, Holdyn, Constance, Joshua, Ireland, Terri, Mikayla; five great-great-grandchildren, Luna, Lane, Beau, Audrey, Luke. Several nieces, nephews and two special step-children; Charles W. (Cassie) Smith, their children, Cathy, Christy, and Charles, Jr.; Goldie (Wayne) DeGroot, their children, Donnie, Beverally, and preceded in death Timothy Smith.

Visitation will be held Sunday, June 19, 2022 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home – Taylor Chapel in Farmington. Visitation will resume at 8:30 AM on Monday at the C.Z. Boyer & Son – Taylor Chapel in Farmington with the Funeral Service beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Thomas Howell Cemetery in Weldon Spring, MO. Memorials may be made to Thomas Howell Cemetery.
