Virginia Lee Young

Virginia Lee Young of Fredericktown, Missouri passed away November 24, 2022, in Festus, Missouri at the age of 78 years. She was born October 2, 1944, in Kimmswick, Missouri the daughter of the late Emmitt Edward and Melissa (Anderson) Chronister. In 1961 she was united in marriage to Freddie Clarence Young who survives. To this union seven children were born: Steve Young (Robin) of DeSoto, Missouri, Freddie Young (Kelly) of Festus, Missouri, Dennis Young of Fredericktown, Missouri, Chris Young (Karla) of Doniphan, Missouri, Becky Fox (Ray)who preceded her in death, Clifford Young who preceded her in death as an infant, and Scott Young of Fredericktown, Missouri. She is survived by one brother: Doyle Chronister of Arizona, and two sisters: Joyce Mays of Ironton, Missouri and Doreen Hayse of Marked Tree, Arkansas. Twelve grandchildren survive as well as numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In addition to her parents and two children, Virginia was preceded in death by two grandsons, three brothers: Earl Chronister, Emmitt Chronister, and Paul Chronister, and three sisters: Helen Parks, Juanita Light, and Darlene Barnes. Virginia was a member of the Church of the Narrow Gate in Bonne Terre, Missouri. She enjoyed working puzzle books and taking care of her fur baby, Lacy. In the past she also enjoyed crocheting and going camping. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. from Bryson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Rick Steinc officiating. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will be in Polk Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Polk Cemetery Association.
