Walter Ruben Simon Jr.

Walter Ruben Simon, Jr. 95, of Terre Du Lac passed away December 2, 2011 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. He was born April 14, 1916 in St. Louis. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bonne Terre, an avid golfer and card player. He loved to work with wood, building bird houses, clocks and furniture. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Ruben Simon, Sr. and Pauline (Wurth) Simon; first wife, Ann (Fox) Simon; half-sister, Alice Geissert. Walter is survived by his wife, Donna (Arens) Simon; daughter, Carol Simon; son, Walter R. "Butch" Simon, III and wife Ray Jean; two granddaughters, Sabrina (Ivy) Baxter, Tiffany Simon; two great-grandchildren, Logan and Mia Grace; step-children, Diane (Fred) Schnable, Donna Jean (Wayne) Weber, Donny Hawkins, Dale (Jan) Hawkins, Debbie Copeland, David (Tracy) Hawkins; fourteen step-grandchildren; twelve step-great-grandchildren. A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bonne Terre with Rev. John Schneider officiating. A social gathering will follow the service in the church basement. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the St. Vincent De Paul Society of Bonne Terre. Arrangements under the direction of C. Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre.
